Our staff are here to provide a friendly and caring service to you and your pets. They are trained to give advice on animal behaviour, dentistry and diet.

Paul Buchanan MVB, MRCVS

Paul is a graduate of Trinity College, Dublin. He is a committed Christian and is married to Valerie. They have three grown up children, two grandchildren and a cat. In his spare time Paul is involved in voluntary Christian work and enjoys playing golf and tennis. Paul has previously been principal of a five vet practice in the West Manchester area.

Bartosz Ropelewski (Bart) DVM, MRCVS

Bart is a veterinary surgeon and works mainly at the Baguley branch. He is interested in all aspects of small animal veterinary work. He hopes to specialise in dermatology and to that end has commenced a course with the Royal Veterinary College which will give him a diploma in Advanced Veterinary Practice.

Katie Newport VN

Katie has always had an interest in animals and has been working in veterinary practice since 1995 and qualified as a listed veterinary nurse in 2001. Since then she has worked in a number of small animal practices.

She enjoys her chosen profession and particularly the areas that bring her face to face with owners and their pets. She especially enjoys nurse consultations, weight clinics and organising puppy parties.

In her spare time she is kept busy with two whippets, two cats and her horse. She also likes to keep fit by going to the gym.

Claire Allen VN

Claire qualified as a listed veterinary nurse in 1989 and went on to work at a variety of veterinary practices around the country. After a break to raise a family Claire is delighted to have returned to the job she loves.

When not at work Claire is kept busy with her own pets - two Siberian Huskies and an ever-growing number of cats. Claire is keen to improve her skills in the future and hopes to takes some further courses and Certificates.

Caroline Richardson VN

Caroline joined Buchananvets in September 2011. She qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2001 and worked at the RSPCA Hospital in Salford for many years. She has two lovely children, two dogs, a cat and fish.

Debi Birchall

Debi has worked in veterinary practice for many years. At home she is kept busy looking after her cats and three children. In her limited spare time she enjoys cycling and swimming.

Kathy Macfarlane

Kathy joined Buchananvets in June 2010 as a Receptionist/Nursing Assistant. She particularly loves cats and has a tabby called Wendy.  In her spare time she enjoys going to the gym, running and socialising.

Sara Fennane

Sara has worked for Buchananvets since November 2008 as a Receptionist/Nursing Assistant.  Outside work she has two dogs; a German Shepherd and a Parsons Terrier, and two horses.
